Spirit----Need of the day!!

Hello ppl!!

Its been sometime since ive penned something....and I was at pains to see that there wasnt a single article on the ongoing India Australia series... ya am writing this piece when India have their backs to the wall...no probs....we shud start the 4th day with a clear game plan..I could see an air of complacency around some senior players....hats of to the tail....they batted beautifully to defy the Aussie attack...guess our top order will go a long way if it learns to occupy the crease.........guys its test match cricket.....slam bang approach is not required...aram ...Assies have a very ordinary attack....abs playable...so Dravid and co need to just play their natural game..nothing fancy nothing extravagant...just plain simple old fashioned test match cricket..we shud definitely be able to save the test match....once we do that .... the MAN will be back for the 2nd one....once that happens everything looks brighter...so some amount of application is what we require..we shud definitely remember the Gabba test...that shud serve us an inspiration to save this match...we than know what happnd.. the rest as they say is history...so all is not lost for the men in blue...guys just some confidence is the order of the day....we will definitely be able to rip the aussies apart....something tells me we will win the series ..might sound a bit outlandish to the ppl watching the series....but i cannot be pessimistic....after watching the indian team play for so long i can seriously bet my life that when in trouble we always have risen to the occasion....afterall we are the only team to have beaten the Aussies regularly at home....Am confident Saurav and his boys will come out of this predicament and prevent the Aussies from crossing the final frontier....all the best guys..the 4th morning is ours...and then we move on to chennai......need i say nething more...GUYS HOPE IS WHAT LIFE THRIVES ON.....

cheers

Michael Owen!!

Guys these are excerpts from a passage abt owen!!!ive kinda modified it !!

Hence the dichotomy of Michael Owen: world-beater or declining force? The cheapest of the imported galacticos, his £8 million fee was a cut-price deal for a player Liverpool feared would leave on a Bosman, but Owen is more expensive ornament than bargain buy so far.
And yet, he has 27 goals to show from 63 internationals to add to more than 100 goals for Liverpool, was European Footballer of the Year in 2001 and is still only 24. He has the credentials of a galactico and his best should be still to come.
If that sounds harsh, consider Owen as he was. When Sir Alex Ferguson recently described Wayne Rooney as the best young player in British football for 30 years, a thought occurred: remember Owen at 18? The sight of Roberto Ayala, one of the world's most accomplished defenders, backtracking desperately and failing to get near him, was one of the defining images of the 1998 World Cup. (WE'll see if rooney can better that)
An admittedly leaden-footed German defence was similarly scared in Munich in 2001. At 21, he turned the FA Cup final Liverpool's way, won the UEFA Cup and was voted Europe's foremost footballer. Greatness beckoned, along with Bobby Charlton's England goalscoring record.
Perhaps it was a desire to recapture the thrilling audacity of the formative years of his career that prompted the move to Real. Certainly Owen's language, coupled with the publication of his autobiography chronicling his Liverpool career, suggested change was imperative. Joining Real revealed laudable ambition, both for silverware and to oust one of the world's most decorated strikers.

Phoenix!

Hello ppl!(writing this piece after my quantum mech exam..so ...expect some unexpected stuff..Uncertainty I guess...chaos...)
was overjoyed by the responses ...though mostly -ve....but life's like that ...I guess everyteam goes thro that period when a new manager takes over...so chillax ppl..i guess everybody is getting overexcited...Trust me...after watching football for so long....This KOP team is definitely one of the most talented teams in Europe...I guess they just need some time to settledown....So shud definitely be able to see their true form sooner than later...For all those "supposed" Man u fans.....Accepted Rooney mania is going to stay for sometime to come.... But when yu go deeper and look at the team composition....There are Hajaar flaws in the team.....Starting from the mid field....Which is the place wher games are won in Europe...I feel they have a long way to go to catch the likes of Barca and the Gunners(Just in case the team that I hate the most)PPl have a misconception that i hate the team from old trafford...guess thats not the case....have always adored the skills of Eric "GOD" Cantona,Becks(Always a Red devil),RVN,Ryan Giggs.........and now the genius from merseyside(lol..lol..........)Rooney....just in case Liverpool is on the bank of river Mersey.....So by heart Rooney is a Merseysider....lol...
I guess i shud definitely take sometime to talk abt the revival of the Caribbean cricket....Boy there is nuthing like watching the calypso charmers in full flow.....what a treat to watch...though this team is a pale shadow of its former self....This present team in the ICC chams trophy did play some good cricket..I was particularly overjoyed to see the fighting qualities shown by newcomers like browne and bradshaw.....Hats off guys ....wonderful job..........They snatched victory from the jaws of defeat....At 140/8 I definitely thot it all over for the windies....But what sprit and guts.....Guess this match will go a long way in improving the confidence of this bruised team from the Caribbean...All the best guys.....Coming back to the Merseyside.....Feel there neednt be any panic....Things will definitely fall into place....I was truly pained by some of the comments....What rubbish ...Ofcourse Liverpool belongs to the top flight...I guess the anonymous writer needs to clean up his brains b4 writing some junk like that......And to Nitesh....I definitely feel Liverpool did a good job of offloading Owen...Felt some kind off of monotony was setting in his game...Guess it was a mutually beneficial ..Also felt Owen definitely needed a change....It will go a long way in improving his game..shud definitely become a more complete footballer when he returns from his duties in Spain..Guess England will be the main beneficiaries....Guys have a hectic weekend ...3 exams in 2 days...so shud get back to writing just in time for the Ind Aus contest...Keep your comments rolling in.........
cheers

Hope--The Elixir!

yes ppl am back, A traumatic weekend for the KOP and team India...Both the teams ended on the losing side after promising so much...What really puts me off is the fact that both lose to teams not even half as talented as their own..Let me start with Team India's performance....To describe it in one word.....APPALLING ........They have let themselves and their country down in a big way.... It was painful to see the likes of Saurav and Yuve play in that particular manner....Even a schoolkid would know that yu shudnt be fishing around the off stump when new to the crease...Yuve can be excused for the fact that he is in such pathetic form that it was suprising he nicked one to the keeper....abt Viru its just a matter of time before we see the man clobbering the bowling around once again...One thing that rankles me is the way Saurav got out....It was unpardonable...In that particular situation it was absolutely unnecessary for him to go and fetch a ball that wide....The saddest part was if he would have let it go it would have definitely been called a wide...For a man with 9000 and odd runs his shot selection left a lot to be desired...Even his captaincy was not upto the mark ....It was really suprising to see him so nervous and apprehensive......Knowing Saurav well he is the last person on earth to get worried about reputations and past record..I could see a fear of losing creeping into his mindset...Once that mood sets in its very difficult to play your natural game....I guess when the captain himself is not confident you can't expect a lot from the team....I felt he definitely missed a trick or 2 .....I thot Irfan should have bowled as soon as Moin got out....Everybody know that Afridi is a kind of bloke who can very easily throw his wicket away..Once a player like him gets his eye in there is a very great probability that his shots will have more value than when he initially gets in... Another thing bowling length to players like Afridi in the slog overs is abs foolish....Reason beings its so damn easy for him to get under the ball and hit thro the line..Guess am being over critical of Irfan..He bowled a fantastic line and length in his 1st spell...Virtually Unplayable...Also feel he shud definitely get his yorker going in the end overs...Boy he does possess a devastating yorker...Our bowlers actually did a wonderful job of job of making a match out this small total....Kudos to them....But they shud have finished them off....I guess the hallmark of a great team is its ability to win even when the chips are down.....A great team will be able to comeout trumps even if only one facet of their game is working properly..In our case it was our bowling...I guess we still have a long way to reach that stage..I feel we shud get our acts together sooner ..else the Aussie Juggernaut is going to blow us away ....But am damn sure that wudnt happen...Guys its just a matter of time before our batting line up begins to flow like a torrent once again...Once that happens nobody can stop us.....Am damn sure Laxman and co are going o feast on the Aussie bowling .....They did it in Australia..so I don't see them having any problems doing it in India....But I guess the key to the series will be Kumble and Bhajji..Guys I'll be previewing the series soon......abt Liverpool....Class is permanent ..form is only temporary..Am actually not all that worried abt Liverpool coz they are a fabulously gifted team..with a great manager..so they definitely will bounce back from the defeat at the hands of the Red Devils....Guess its taking some time for all the new players to settle in...so the Kop need'nt worry a lot.......thats all for now guys......
cheers
